Ballista 2.0 (Leviathan Series Only) is a specially designed material that is a high end ballistic graded frame material that was developed to work alongside the Helius 780 or Helius L25 RCT High Impact Polarized Lens system to pass the MIL-STD 662 ballistics fragmentation test for tactical eyewear.
The RCI Optics lens technology utilizes our proprietary Helius™ advanced polymer that is up to six times denser than polycarbonate or other lens materials. Our Leviathan Series™ sunglasses made with our Ballista 2.0 frame material coupled with our Helius H780 or L25 lenses passes both ANSI Z87-1 and MIL-STD 662 ballistics fragmentation test.

The low light lenses are an absolute game changer. Light enough to be used in any overcast/ rainy, dawn/ dusk situation as well as great performance when the sun is high and bright!

By far my favorite lens and frame!!! These are low light lenses that can be worn all day. They not only shine in low light conditions but also help bring out the contrast when fishing over dark grassy bottom. The Refuge frames are by far the most comfortable frames of any shades I’ve ever worn. They fit just right… not too tight, not too loose. This is the perfect combination.

After running through multiple pairs of Costa’s in a year I realized it was time for a change. I stopped in at RCI Optics over the summer to check out their glasses and get a few questions answered. The guys there were awesome and didn’t pressure me into purchasing anything, they let me try on almost every pair of glasses they had (multiple times). They told me about their business from start to beginning and how most of the other fishing glasses have gone to China and aren’t worth a dime. I loved the small, family business feel of the shop. Ended up walking out with a pair of the Refuges because I wear my glasses 24/7 and wanted a good pair for fishing, but also a stylish pair for everyday wearing.
